In the event of a hurricane, what happens to my reservation?
Do I need a passport to travel to Palm Island?
Yes. A valid passport is required for travelers going to Palm Island via Barbados and as of December 31, 2005, a passport will be required for all US and Canadian citizens traveling to the Caribbean.
We strongly recommend that all members of your party travel with a passport with a validity date of at least six months past the date of your departure from the island.

What are the luggage restrictions on the flight from Barbados to Union Island?
Typically, you are allowed to bring one checked bag, and one carry on, as set out below.
Allowance of 1 standard piece of carry-on luggage per passenger not to exceed 13 lbs. (6 kilos).
One free checked bag per passenger not to exceed 44 lbs.
A second checked bag not to exceed 44 lbs (20 kilos) will be US$50.00 per bag.
A third checked bag not to exceed 44 lbs (20 kilos) will be US$100.00 per bag.
The maximum number of checked bags allowed per passenger will be 3 bags.
We always recommend traveling light and bringing the minimum amount of luggage to avoid airport and transfer delays. If you bring more than one checked bag, and one carry on, there may be delays and some of your luggage may not make the initial flight due to overall weight restrictions.

Can my room be upgraded?
Yes, upon availability and at an additional charge payable at the resort.
What are the differences between the room categories?
Beachfront rooms are only feet from the beach; Palm View rooms have views of the garden or the ocean. Island Lofts are located in a private garden and overlook the ocean.
Are there televisions and telephones in the guest rooms?
Palm Island is a special destination where we emphasize the natural beauty of the island without external distraction, so televisions and standard-dial telephones are not placed in the guest rooms (with the exception of the Villas, which have televisions). However, a television is located in the library along with a computer with internet access, and should you need to place an overseas call during your stay, the Front Desk staff will be more than happy to assist you. The telephones in the rooms are for room-to-room dialing, and may also be used to dial the Spa or Front Desk for assistance. The telephones will not make off-island calls, however inbound calls can be transferred to your room via the front desk switchboard.
What is the capacity of each room category?

Is late check-out available or may I have a courtesy room if I have a late departure?
Yes, depending on individual situations, we will accommodate your needs.
Are there safes in the rooms and they included?
Yes, there are safes in the rooms at no additional charge.
Does my room have a fridge?
Yes, all room categories have refrigerators.
Are there hairdryers, iron and ironing boards in the rooms?
Yes, hairdryers, irons and ironing boards are in every room.
Do any of the rooms have bath tubs?
Yes - all Palm View rooms and Island Lofts have lovely big bath tubs and showers, with plenty of room for two!
Is it safe to drink the tap water?
Yes, the tap water is drinkable and bottled water is also available.
What is the voltage in the rooms?
Voltage is 110V.
What are the telephone charges to dial internationally?
The charges depend on destination of the call, but are billed through a local operator and are subject to local and long distance charges.
Are the rooms air conditioned? Do they have ceiling fans?
Rooms have both air conditioning and ceiling fans.
Are children permitted at the resort?
To maintain Palm Island's peaceful and romantic atmosphere, we do not accept resort bookings for children under 16 years of age from January 3 to April 8. Children 12 years of age and older are welcomed from April 9 to January 2.
Are non-smoking rooms available?
All of our rooms are non-smoking.
Are there alarm/clock radios in the rooms?
Yes, in all rooms.
Is there a CD player in my room?
No, only a clock radio.
Do you have rooms for disabled people?
Fully modified disabled rooms, such as you may find in the United States, are not available. Ground floor rooms are available. However, some areas and facilities at the resort may not be accessible to disabled persons.
Do I have to make reservations for dinner?
Reservations are only required for the Sunset Restaurant on Wednesdays and Saturdays 24 hours in advance.
Is there a dress code?
In the restaurants, shoes are worn and bathing suits are covered. After 6:30 p.m., men wear shirts with collars and short or long sleeves (no t-shirts or tank tops), and slacks. Women wear dresses, skirts, slacks, culottes or tailored Bermuda-length shorts (no “short shorts” or cutoffs.) No jeans for men or women in the evenings. In summer, men can wear dress Bermudas.
Do your restaurants and bars pour brand liquor? What beers do you have?
Yes, all restaurants and bars have brand liquors and we serve local beer.
I have a restricted diet due to allergies, will I be limited to the items on the menu?
Due to the all-inclusive nature of the resort, and the large scale of our food and beverage operations, the resort cannot guarantee that food items will not come in contact with potential allergens even if a particular dish does not normally include these ingredients. Guests who may have severe allergic reactions to certain foods and allergens should take precautions.
The resort cannot guarantee that exposure to potential allergens will not occur. The resort frequently receives questions regarding special dietary needs and restrictions. In an all-inclusive setting, the resort is not able to accommodate individually tailored meals for specific guests.
The resort does offer a wide variety of meal choices, which includes salads, fresh fruits and vegetables, and vegetarian options. However, the resort is not able to cater to specific individual needs such as gluten free, allergen free, religious observance, or similar custom made dishes. We thank you for your attention and understanding.

Is bottled water provided in the fridges in the guest rooms?
No, bottled water is not provided in the guest rooms, however can be purchased at the gift shop.
Do you provide snacks between meals?
There is Afternoon Tea provided daily.
When is the Manager's Cocktail Party?
Every Wednesday at 6:30pm - just in time to watch the sun hit the horizon.
Are there theme nights?
Every Wednesday night is BBQ night and Saturday night is Caribbean buffet at the Royal Palm Restaurant.
I know you are a private island, but is there any shopping nearby?
You can take the short boat ride to Union Island and visit the town and shops there.
What kinds of additional services are provided by Palm Island?
For an additional charge, guests can arrange a boat charter, scuba excursions, deep sea fishing, snorkeling in the Tobago Cays and private picnic lunches served at one of 4 designated picnic areas on Palm Island.
Is there a gift shop at the resort?
Yes, we have a gift shop where you will find everything from beachwear and flip-flops to cold beverages and snacks.
Can we scuba dive, fish and snorkel?
Yes, many excursions available through local tour and excursion providers. Our reception desk will be happy to arrange these trips for you. You will find all the information on day trips and activities under the Watersports link on the Palm Island page.
What type of night-time entertainment is offered?
Local bands perform on Monday and Wednesday nights. Steel band plays on Saturday nights.
Do you rent bikes?
Bicycles are available at no charge. Ride the bikes paths for a glimpse at all the amazing vistas from the island.
Do you have a spa?
Yes, Palm Island has a lovely spa offering a wide variety of massage and beauty treatments, which can be purchased locally during your stay at the resort.
Do you provide transportation to nearby churches on Sunday?
Yes, if you wish to attend a local service, we will take you to Union Island.
Do you have internet access? Can I use my laptop in my room?
Yes, we understand and appreciate your need to stay connected. You are able to keep in touch with friends and family from our library where you will find a computer with complimentary internet access. Or, complimentary wi-fi is available in the library and the lobby for use with your own wireless device.
How far away is an ATM machine?
There is an ATM machine in Union Island. Guest Services will arrange a visit if necessary. Also the hotel can provide a cash advance on your Credit Card however a 5% commission will applied.
What is required at check-in?
At check-in, guests are required to present valid government-issued identification (passport, driver’s license, ID card) along with a valid major credit card. This helps us confirm your arrival, and helps protect our guests by assisting with our fraud prevention measures. At check-in, a US$350 pre-authorization will be processed on your card to cover any incidental purchases or similar expenses. Incidental purchases may include things like tours, excursions, gift shop purchases, and dining in our specialty restaurant. We understand that not all guests incur additional charges during their stay, but this process all assists the resort with fraud prevention. The pre-authorization is released at check-out, assuming you have not charged any purchases to your room.
