"Picture Postcard Island"
Palm Island Holidayheaven
Cheshire, England

My husband and I stayed on Palm Island for a week at the end of Jan, beginning of Feb 09 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We are seasoned travellers and have stayed at some of the best hotels in the world so we were slightly concerned reading some of the reviews before arriving but we had a lovely holiday. The island itself is very picture postcard, the sand is really, yes really that fine and the water that blue!! No camera trickery going on!! We had grand plans of seeing other islands and experiencing the trips on offer but with the island being so relaxing and chilled, we did absolutely nothing. Great staff, especially Kimroy, who looked after us the evening we had dinner (and danced barefoot in the sand) at the heart tree for my husbands birthday (which I highly recommend booking) Also Sydney behind the bar, lovely cocktails served with a smile !

We had a Palm View Room which was perfect, nice, large and airy in traditional caribbean style with a large bathroom with separate bath and shower. The minibar in the room wasn't the best we've ever had, it only supplied soft fizzy drinks (no water), beer and white wine (we don't drink beer or white wine only spirits and red wine so thats just our small gripe). The food was lovely at each meal, and the Friday night BBQ is not to be missed. My husband said the lobster was the best he's ever had and that really is saying something! Afternoon tea isn't that great, just a few sandwiches and slices of cake so don't expect a three tiered silver stand as its not that kind of thing, but this didn't bother us at all as lunch was plentiful and filling that most times we were still full at dinner after giving afternoon tea a miss anyway.

Now the question is... we will return......most definately!! In fact we are already planning our next trip. P.S Just a tip on the flight connections as our flight from London Gatwick to Barbados only had about a 45 min connection slot for the Grenadine Airways flight. We decided not to chance it and stayed overnight in Barbados until the next day. Other travellers on our flight to Barbados, who were due to fly the same day to the Grenadines missed the connection so something just to be aware of!
