Q: Do I need a passport to travel to Palm Island?
A: Yes. A valid passport is required for travelers going to Palm Island via Barbados and as of December 31, 2005, a passport will be required for all US and Canadian citizens traveling to the Caribbean.
We strongly recommend that all members of your party travel with a passport with a validity date of at least six months past the date of your departure from the island.

Q: Can my room be upgraded?
A: Yes, upon availability and at an additional charge payable at the resort.
Q: What are the differences between the room categories?
A: Beachfront rooms are only feet from the beach; Palm View rooms have views of the garden or the ocean. Island Lofts are located in a private garden and overlook the ocean.
Q: Are there televisions and telephones in the guest rooms?
A: Palm Island is such a special destination and we really try to emphasize the natural beauty of the island without external distraction, so televisions and telephones are not placed in the guest rooms. However, a television is located in the library along with a computer with internet access and should you need to place an overseas call during your stay, the Front Desk staff will be more than happy to assist you.

Q: Is late check-out available or may I have a courtesy room if I have a late departure?
A: Yes, depending on individual situations, we will accommodate your needs.
Q: Are there safes in the rooms and they included?
A: Yes, there are safes in the rooms at no additional charge.
Q: Does my room have a fridge?
A: Yes, all room categories have refrigerators.
Q: Are there hairdryers, iron and ironing boards in the rooms?
A: Yes, hairdryers, irons and ironing boards are in every room.
Q: Do any of the rooms have bath tubs?
A: Yes - all Palm View rooms and Island Lofts have lovely big bath tubs and showers, with plenty of room for two!
Q: Is it safe to drink the tap water?
A: Yes, the tap water is drinkable and bottled water is also available.
Q: What is the voltage in the rooms?
A: Voltage is 110V.
Q: What are the telephone charges to dial internationally?
A: The charges depend on destination of the call, but are billed through a local operator and are subject to local and long distance charges.
Q: Are the rooms air conditioned? Do they have ceiling fans?
A: Rooms have both air conditioning and ceiling fans.
Q: Are children permitted at the resort?
A: Children under the age of 16 are permitted at Palm Island between April 15 and January 3, however, there are no childrens rates.
Q: Do you provide cribs?
A: Yes, free of charge, but children are only allowed at Palm Island during the summer months.
Q: Are non-smoking rooms available?
A: Yes, please make your request at time of booking.
Q: Are there alarm/clock radios in the rooms?
A: Yes, in all rooms.
Q: Is there a CD player in my room?
A: No, only a clock radio.
Q: Do you have rooms for disabled people?
A: Fully modified disabled rooms, such as you may find in the United States, are not available. Ground floor rooms are available. However, some areas and facilities at the resort may not be accessible to disabled persons.
Q: Do I have to make reservations for dinner?
A: Reservations are only required for the Sunset Restaurant 24 hours in advance.
Q: Are there dress codes?
A: In the restaurants, shoes are worn and bathing suits are covered. After 6:30 p.m., men wear shirts with collars and short or long sleeves (no t-shirts or tank tops), and slacks. Women wear dresses, skirts, slacks, culottes or tailored Bermuda-length shorts (no short shorts or cutoffs.) No jeans for men or women in the evenings. In summer, men can wear dress Bermudas.
Q: Do your restaurants and bars pour brand liquor? What beers do you have?
A: Yes, all restaurants and bars have brand liquors and we serve local beer.
Q: I have a restricted diet due to allergies, will I be limited to the items on the menu?
A: Upon arrival at the resort, please be sure to identify yourself and a meeting will be arranged with the Chef. While specific dietary requirements cannot be guaranteed, the chef will gladly assist with helping to meet your needs.
Q: Do you have children's menus?
A: No we dont.
Q: Is babysitting available?
A: Children are allowed at Palm Island during the summer months and yes, babysitting is available. The charge is $15/hour.
Q: Can I have room service?
A: Yes, upon request.
Q: Is bottled water provided in the fridges in the guest rooms?
A: No, bottled water is not provided in the guest rooms, however can be purchased at the bar and in the gift shop.
Q: Do you provide snacks between meals?
A: There is Afternoon Tea provided daily.
Q: When is the Manager's Cocktail Party?
A: Every Wednesday at 6:30pm - just in time to watch the sun hit the horizon.
Q: Are there theme nights?
A: Every Friday night is BBQ night at the Royal Palm Restaurant.
Q: I know you are a private island, but is there any shopping nearby?
A: You can take the short boat rid to Union Island and visit the town and shops there.
Q: What kinds of additional services are provided by Palm Island?
A: For an additional charge, guests can arrange a boat charter, scuba excursions, drift fishing, snorkeling in the Tobago Cays and private picnic lunches served anywhere on Palm Island.
Q: Is there golf at Palm Island?
A: We boast Island-style golf at Palm. We have a rudimentary course - its ideal for a fun round of batting balls around the island.
Q: Is there a gift shop at the resort?
A: Yes, we have a gift shop where you will find everything from beachwear and flip-flops to cold beverages and snacks.
Q: Can we scuba dive, fish and snorkel?
A: Yes, we have many excursions available. Our reception desk will be happy to arrange these trips for you. You will find all the information on day trips and activities under the Watersports link on the Palm Island page.
Q: What type of night-time entertainment is offered?
A: Local bands perform on Monday and Wednesday nights. Steel band plays on Friday nights.
Q: Do you rent bikes?
A: Bicycles are available at no charge. Ride the bikes paths for a glimpse at all the amazing vistas from the island.
Q: Do you have a spa?
A: Masseuse is local, lives on the island, and is available daily. Look for prices under the Spa link on the Palm Island page.
Q: Do you provide transportation to nearby churches on Sunday?
A: Yes, if you wish to attend a local service, we will take you to Union Island.
Q: Do you have internet access? Can I use my laptop in my room?
A: Trust me, you will not want your laptop once you reach our shores! However, you are able to keep in touch with friends and family from our library where you will find a computer with complimentary internet access.
Q: How far away is an ATM machine?
A: There is an ATM machine in Union Island. Guest Services will arrange a visit if necessary.
